|EAN:||Poggio Trevvalle Morellino di Scansano|
Italian red wine with the scent of ripe fruit, spices and spice-like nuances. The taste is juicy and full. Nice wine with spicy meat or stews.
Poggio Trevvalle is located in the heart of the Tuscan coast, the Maremma. This area is best known for the wines from the chic Bolgheri. Here since the mid-sixties of the last century, high-quality wine has been made from globally distributed cabernet and merlot grapes. But there are also areas in the Maremma where the original grape, sangiovese, is dominant.
As in Morellino di Scansano, which is located in the Grosseto town, a little southwest of famous wine regions such as Chianti and Montalcino. On the small azienda Poggio Trevvalle, Umberto Valle organizes around 14 hectares of vineyard in an organic way.
The Morellino di Scansano is the calling card of Poggio Trevvalle. The wine is a blend of 90% sangiovese supplemented with merlot and alicante bouchet for extra color, depth and spiciness. The grapes are harvested manually.
The fermentation starts automatically, with the natural yeast cells from the vineyard. After lactic acid fermentation, the wine ripens for several months in oak barrels and concrete tanks for extra round hours. A great Tuscan red wine with strength, flexibility and refinement. Highly recommended!
