Top carmenère from Chile!
|EAN:||Viña von Siebenthal Aconcagua Valley Carmenère Reserva|
Red wine from Chile where the carmenèredruif fully comes into its own. The intense aroma and balanced full flavor are easy to combine with spicy dishes: from pastas to grilled meat.
The Swiss von Siebenthal started in 1998 with financial help from some friends this small wine estate in Aconcagua Valley north of Santiago. Currently he makes about 150,000 bottles a year and is considered one of the toppers in Chile. His red wines are distinguished by the beautiful elegance and fine drinkability in contrast to the massive and bombastic style of many other Chilean icon wines. The current harvest is impressive and comes from 85% carmenère and 15% cabernet sauvignon grapes. The carmenère has never been able to convince Bordeaux in its area of origin, but in the warmer Chilean vineyards the grape thrives optimally. Certainly in the hands of wine producers such as Von Siebenthal, carmenère has become the grape variety that puts this exceptional wine country on the map. Highly recommended.
