|EAN:||Solar de Urbezo Cariñena Crianza|
Spanish full-red wine with a powerful aroma. The complex full and balanced taste fits perfectly with fine spicy dishes and for example beef tenderloin or lamb chops.
For winemakers in Spain, it is a big challenge to produce wines in the coming years that meet the trend of more flexibility and refinement. The warm Spanish climate is not easy for this. The wine region of Cariñena - northeastern in the autonomous region of Aragón just south of Zaragoza - however, has the advantage of relatively cool vineyards.
A first successful start is given here by the small family-owned Solar de Urbezo where a beautiful and refined Crianza is made with eight months of oak maturation. The juicy ripe taste notes come from late harvested syrahmerlot and cabernet grapes.
Owner and winemaker Santiago Garcia found it unfortunate that the harvest of his excellent vines disappeared anonymously in the moderate wine of the local cooperative and separated more than twenty years ago to build his own small-scale bodega. This pioneer of the first hour shows that this area has great potential.
