Type Rhone wine: tempting and spicy!
|EAN:||Révélation Pays d'Oc Grenache-Mourvèdre|
The Révélation is a harmonious assembly of the Mediterranean grape varieties grenache and mourvèdre. Many Southern French winemakers are fond of the mourvèdre and the number of hectares that is planted with this grape is rapidly expanding. Mourvèque grapes, however, do not ripen just as well everywhere yielding tannin-rich hard wines. But in the vicinity of the sea, the result is spectacular, with an appealing example of the Bandol wine region.
OEnologue Laurent Delaunay selected ripe mourvèque grapes in La Clape - the wine region between Narbonne and the sea - and spicy grenache from the warm Minervois more inland. After a short aging period of several months in oak, the result is a seductive and spicy red wine that can easily compete with, for example, fine local wines from the southern Rhone Valley.
