Tasting note Dreissigacker Riesling Trocken
Fragrant riesling with nuances of fresh yellow fruit and some ripe tropical fruit. The taste turns juicy and fresh; the aftertaste is fragrant mild and persistent. Delicious with cold fish dishes or as an aperitif.
Jochen Dreissigacker is one of Germany's up-and-coming young talents in the field of new generation of dry riesling. The fully biologically cultivated vineyards are located in and around the village Bechtheim in Rheinhessen. The grapes are picked by hand and transported in small containers to the cellar. After the completely natural fermentation, the wine ripens for about 4 months on the sediment. This method gives a certain "greasiness" to the wine. Familiarity outside Germany is limited, but active German sommeliers have already included Dreissigacker on their wine cards. Especially the pure round style, which is very accessible for riesling, appeals while the wine is still nice and dry. In the Gault Millau wine guide of 2009 Jochen Dreissigacker has been named Aufstieger des Jahres!
