Cour des Dames Mourvedre
Accessible southern French red wine with a fruity smoky scent with oak. The full, soft taste goes very well with spicy dishes. Also nice outside the meal.
Mourvedre
Mourvèdre has been mentioned for years as the new asset of the southern French winegrowers. But it is a difficult grape to cultivate with a considerable tannin content. Making a good balanced red wine is therefore a special challenge. In the worst case, hard and immature tannin is often left behind. You rarely see this potentially fantastic grape as a 'mono-variety' (wine from one grape variety).
Whatever the case, we can taste this smooth, full-bodied La Cour des Dames. The 15-year-old sticks give a low yield and part of the wine matures in oak casks, creating a creamy oak nuance.
A special red wine original of excellent quality and with an accessible taste.
Interesting detail: the name La Tour des Dames was transferred to La Cour des Dames from the 2014 harvest because the famous Château Latour in Bordeaux (!) objected to the use of the old name.
