Pinot Gris (Alsace, Germany, Italy, USA, Eastern Europe, Luxembourg, Switzerland, New Zealand
Grape with a rosy appearance, which can also produce deeply colored wines (Alsace). Descends from Pinot Noir and therefore probably comes from Burgundy. The grape easily builds up sugars and has few acids. In Alsace, the Pinot Gris is also made lusciously sweet.
Recognizable aromas: green fruit (apple, pear), exotic fruit (melon, banana, mango, peach); blossom (honey), roasted (nuts, almond), (honey); spices (cinnamon, cardamom); wood (vanilla, cedar, oak).
