Information
From cool, high-altitude vineyards in Maipo Costa
An assembly of durif, malbec and syrah
Elegant and terroir driven

Tasting note Maurizio Garibaldi

Beautiful red wine with a refined scent of flowers, fresh red fruit (cherry, blackberry), oak and spices. The palate is full, juicy and harmonious with ripe, smooth tannins in the long-lasting aftertaste.

Description

The next Chilean superstar? Amazing talent. - Tim Atkin MW
What an amazing and original Chilean red wine the enthusiastic winemaker Maurizio Garibaldi makes with this Lemu! No thirteen-in-a-dozen Carmenère or Cabernet, but a unique terroir-driven blend of durif, malbec and syrah from Maipo Costa.
A special feature of the wine is the microclimate in which the grapes are grown: at no less than 800 meters above sea level, 40 kilometers from the coast. Both the height and sea breeze from the Pacific provide cooling conditions and thus a gradual maturation of the grapes. The surrounding forests have given the wine its name - Lemu means 'forest' in the local Mapudungun language.
The wine matured in French oak barrels for 24 months, but the wood influence is subtle and supportive. The end result is an elegant, juicy and intense tasting wine, with beautiful, refined aromas of flowers, fresh red fruit, spiciness and leather. Very successful, and as far as we are concerned, the future of Chilean wine!
