Winemaking family has been making wine in the French south since 1840. The knowledgeable and experienced Pierre André Ournac is the brains behind both the Pays d'Oc domain of Coudoulet and the Chãteau Cesseras based in Minervois-La Livinière.
At domaine Coudoulet, attractively priced wines of striking quality are made. The vineyards are cultivated without using irrigation. That makes it more difficult for the grapes, which ultimately gives them more flavor. Domaine Coudoulet is known for its fine wines from viognier. The trick is - especially in the warm Languedoc - to keep this wine fresh and light-footed and the Ournac family knows exactly how to do that. At Chateau Cesseras, the family makes impressive, serious apple wines based predominantly on syrah with carignan and mourvèdre. It is not without reason that these wines receive favorable reactions from the international wine press.
Pierre André's son Camille Ournac has joined the family winery since the beginning of 2019. His CV is quite impressive, all the more so for someone of such a young age. Not only does Camille have a master's degree in oenology from the University of Dijon, he was also apprenticed to various leading fields around the world. Full of passion, he combines ancient traditions with the most modern techniques to create beautiful, round, accessible wines. Thus, the future of the domain is more than guaranteed!
