Description

The chardonnay grape is rare in the Loire region; all attention goes to sauvignon and chenin. Quite a shame, because the style of a good Loire Chardonnay with freshness and elegance can be compared to that of (usually much more expensive) Chablis.

 

This also includes the excellent Chardonnay Tradition from Pierre Morgeau, from vineyards near the city of Poitiers. Pierre harvests the grapes quite late and lets them ferment and mature for six months in large 500-litre barrels made of Allier oak. About 20% is new, but there are also seven-year barrels. This age mix gives a special complexity to this beautiful white wine, which has already achieved a Coup de Coeur in the French Guide Hachette.

Chardonnay from a cool terroir, with a naturally fresh taste, is becoming rarer due to warming in the vineyards. Taste it yourself and you will understand why we are so enthusiastic about this beautiful Chardonnay from La Tour Beaumont.

Beautiful wine with various cold and warm fish dishes, but also excellent with veal or poultry with a creamy sauce.
