Tasting note
Velvety soft and rather semi-dry in character. Balanced with still beautiful fruit in the aftertaste and sufficient richness. Delicious as an aperitif or digestif, with cheese.
Description
The vineyards are laid out as terraces, with only one row of vines on some terraces. The vineyards on Quinta da Romaneira all have A status (the vineyards in the Douro Valley are classified from A to F, where A is the highest class). They still press traditionally with the foot, then vinification in stainless steel, with controlled temperature. The port is aged in large wooden barrels made of reclaimed oak for five years.
