Description
Crisp, fresh, New World-style Sauvignon Blanc. That's the short description of this flawless and expressive white wine from Laurent Delaunay. He purchased the small boutique winery in the village of Marseillette from the talented Australian Nerida Abbott in 2005 and has since expanded the range.
The Sauvignon 'Les Fruits Sauvages' is one of his most successful wines and can easily be confused with an exotic New Zealand Sauvignon from the South Island.
Laurent knows the recipe for this style and quality intimately: he harvests early in the morning, macerates the skins before fermentation in stainless steel tanks, and then lets the wine age "sur lie" for several months. The result is a beautiful, expressive, high-quality Sauvignon Blanc.
