Description

Castello Romitorio's Brio lives up to its name. Brio means "liveliness" in Italian – and lively and energetic is precisely what this delicious Tuscan Sangiovese is.

This is because Filippo Chia harvests the grapes from the youngest IGP vineyards using Sangiovese vines. This is done with the utmost care: the grapes are hand-picked, which allows for a rigorous selection process.


Once in the cellar, the grapes are carefully inspected again. They then ferment in stainless steel tanks, where they are also aged. This ensures the purest and most fruity expression of Sangiovese possible.

With its youthful character, the Brio naturally lacks the aging potential of Filippo's Brunellos, but it is a wonderfully juicy, fruity wine perfect for drinking young, either on its own or paired with a variety of dishes. Filippo's tip? Pair it with pici al ragu di cinghiale (pasta with wild boar) or stracotto (beef stew).
