Bideona Rioja Artelan Crianza 2021

Rioja Crianza comes in all shapes and sizes: from simple aperitifs to fine quality wines. This fantastic addition from the young, ambitious Bideona estate definitely falls into the latter category.

Bideona's mission is to discover and preserve unique vineyards with old vines, thriving on limestone-rich clay soils in the cool, elevated Rioja Alavesa region. This strikingly beautiful, mountainous Rioja terroir is considered the Côte d'Or of the famous wine region.

Winemaker Tao Platon—who gained experience in Burgundy, Bordeaux, and New Zealand—then crafts unique, premium wines from the hand-harvested Tempranillo. To match the grapes' superior quality, he matures the Crianza after fermentation in new French oak barrels.

It produces a beautiful, seductive, classic Rioja with notes of ripe red berry fruit, cedar, and vanilla, and a velvety, concentrated flavor. A delicious wine to pair with grilled meat or a potato tortilla, or to enjoy on its own.
