Description

What a magnificent Rioja Reserva from the young, ambitious wine company Artélan! The noble mission of this project is to contribute to a new generation of Rioja wines that clearly reflect their origins.

In the case of Artélan, this isn't just any origin. Winemaker Tao Platon selects the Tempranillo grapes from historic vineyards with old vines and low yields in Rioja Alavesa, also known as the Côte d'Or region of Rioja. Thanks to the higher and therefore cooler altitude of the vineyards, the grapes ripen while retaining fresh acidity and aromatics.

In the cellar, Tao ensures impeccable vinification. After fermentation, the wine is luxuriously aged in French oak barrels for fourteen months, followed by a further three years of bottle aging.

The Reserva boasts a beautiful balance of ripe fruit, ample freshness, and a seductive oaky touch. A sensational Rioja, with notes of cherry, plum, spice, and cedar, and a velvety, soft, and intensely seductive flavor. The perfect wine to pair with hearty meat dishes or a mature piece of Manchego.
