Description
Karthäuserhof may be one of the eight oldest wineries in the world, but their Bruno by Karthäuserhof series is incredibly young and hip. The wines are named after Bruno of Cologne, founder of the Carthusian order of monks.
Just like the famous traditional Karthäuserhof wines, Bruno is also available in the renowned "bare-bellied" bottle. The difference lies in the origin of the grapes. In this case, they come not only from the Karthäuserhof mountain, but also from surrounding vineyards in the Ruwer region.
The quality standards are no less stringent: the grapes are planted on steep slopes with slate soils and are harvested and selected by hand. Yields are deliberately kept low for extra flavor concentration.
This method produces a fantastic, delicate, dry Mosel Riesling with intense aroma and flavor, vibrant freshness, a mineral profile, and a modest alcohol content. You can taste the hand of top winemaker Mathieu Kauffmann. Whatever the season or occasion, this wine is always a delight!
Drinking at
Refreshing dry white wine to drink on its own, or to pair with fish salads or light shellfish starters.
Tasting note
Intensely aromatic white wine with notes of grapefruit, peach, and a light smokiness. A delicate structure with great refinement and invigorating freshness. The finish is crystal clear and lingering.
