Description
Villa Il Palagio has been Sting and his wife Trudie Styler's Tuscan holiday home for over twenty years. The famous couple has completely restored the ancient vineyards and certified them organic. Biodynamics are also used throughout the entire process, from grape to wine.

The cellar has seen a significant leap in quality since the 2019 harvest, under the influence of Riccardo Cotarella. He champions a minimalist approach to winemaking, which aligns well with Sting and Trudie's philosophy of producing with respect for nature.

The Message in a Bottle is made from Sangiovese grapes, complemented by Syrah and Merlot. Cotarella's preference for grape expression over oak is beautifully expressed here.

The palate is accessible with a pleasant juiciness, making this beautiful Tuscan wine versatile. It's perfect for drinking on its own, but also powerful enough to pair with a variety of dishes. Tip: use large, wide glasses to allow the beautiful aromas to fully develop.

Drinking at
A refined, slightly spicy red wine to enjoy solo or with flavourful (pasta) dishes, such as ricotta and mushroom ravioli, tagliatelle with aubergine and mozzarella, or soft cheeses.

Tasting note
Ruby-red wine with open aromas of red berries, cherries, plums, cloves, and bay leaves. Juicy and smooth on the palate with beautiful cherry fruit, invigorating acidity, and fine tannins. The finish is elegant and slightly spicy.

Shelf life
Ready to drink immediately; can easily be kept for up to 4 to 5 years after harvest.
