Description

Besides its compelling Ribera del Duero wines, Abadía de San Quirce also produces this delicious Verdejo, made from grapes grown in the neighboring Rueda region. Both wine regions are connected by the Duero River, but Ribera focuses primarily on red wine, while Rueda focuses on white.

Winemaker Diana Moreno Grávalos harvests the Verdejo grapes at night. This ensures the grapes remain at a temperature of around five degrees Celsius, ensuring they reach the cellar in optimal condition. This is crucial for maximum aromatic expression in the wine.



Once in the cellar, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. After this, the wine is aged on the yeasts (sobre lías) for three months, which provides extra volume and flavor intensity.

The Verdejo Sobre Lías is wonderfully fragrant and juicy, with notes of yellow fruit, a hint of almond, and a touch of spice. It's a delicious accompaniment to tapas and a perfect accompaniment to grilled fish or paella with chicken or seafood.
