Description

This delicious white is a perfect introduction to the Burgundies from the Thierry Drouin estate. The estate—now run by Thierry's son, Charles-Edouard—is located in Vergisson, overlooking the famous Roche de Solutré, and also produces Mâcon, Saint-Véran, and, of course, Pouilly-Fuissé.

Charles-Edouard creates his signature wine from Chardonnay grapes harvested in the northern and western parts of Mâcon-Villages. He selects several plots with chalky soils, where the grapes can ripen for extended periods. This results in ripe fruit, refined freshness, and beautiful aromatics in the wine.

After the harvest, the wine is gently pressed in the cellar. The wine then ferments in stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels. The wine also matures on the yeasts in these tanks, creating a beautiful balance between fruit expression, a hint of brioche, and a refined oaky note.

Enjoy this fine Bourgogne Blanc on its own as a luxurious aperitif or with light vegetables, fish or poultry dishes, or soft, creamy cheeses. A surefire hit, especially considering its modest price.
