While searching for a good and reasonably priced Italian olive oil, we received a golden tip from our popular Puglia estate, Cantine Due Palme. The Maci family referred us to Villa Vinci, where we discovered this exceptionally beautiful specimen.

It's special in several ways. First of all, this olive oil has an official designation of origin, DOP Terra di Bari, referring to the area around the Puglian city of the same name, where the olives are harvested.

Furthermore, the oil is made from a single olive variety, called Coratina. This variety originates in Bari and is considered one of Puglia's most important indigenous olive varieties. Olive oil from this variety is powerful and distinctive.

You can taste that in this Extra Virgin, which stood head and shoulders above the other contenders in the comparative tasting. It stood out with its aromatic, spicy aroma, intensely fruity flavor, and refined almond bitterness in the finish. The fact that it also came with such a modest price tag made it the undisputed winner. A must-have for every kitchen.
