Information
Matured in top quality oak barrels
Ripe red fruit, spices and beautiful, smoky oak
Delicious on its own and at the table

Long description
This elegant and characterful Pinot Noir is François's latest addition to the Equinoxe range. And it's certainly a welcome addition, as the finesse of the Pinot Noir grape contrasts beautifully with the Cabernet, Merlot, and Syrah he uses for the other, more powerful red wines in the series.

Of course, this is a southern, ripe expression of Pinot Noir, but François has miraculously managed to preserve the grape's characteristic freshness. After harvesting around the autumnal equinox, the grapes were steeped in stainless steel tanks for about two weeks to extract aromas and structure from the skins.

Once fermented, François ages the wine in French oak barrels for eight months. The aging is somewhat shorter than for other Equinoxe wines to prevent the oak influence from overshadowing the Pinot's refined character. Finally, the wine is aged in bottle for another six months, allowing all the elements to come together beautifully and harmoniously.

It also boasts enticing aromas of ripe red fruit, a hint of leather, and spices. The palate is soft and delicate, with a refined structure and a lovely, smoky oak note. A delightful red to enjoy on its own or at the table. L'Arjolle's recommendations? Mushroom risotto or soft Normandy cheeses.

Drinking at
An elegant, smooth Pinot Noir to enjoy on its own or with refined dishes. Delicious slightly chilled with duck breast salad, roasted chicken, or mushroom risotto.

Tasting note
A youthful, ruby-red wine with subtle aromas of cherry, plum, cedar, and licorice. Full and smooth on the palate with ripe fruit, balanced freshness, and fine tannins. The finish is lingering with notes of bay leaf and clove.
