Description

Hubrecht Duijker writes in his Bordeaux Wine Atlas & Encyclopedia: "One of the better bourgeois from Barsac; full-bodied, long-lasting, honeyed, and with fruity notes and spicy wood (aged for two years in barrels; one-third in new barrels). Gravas comes from Graves, a reference to the siliceous vineyard. The Bernard family has operated this estate since 1850. Barsac is part of the Sauternes region and can be sold under its own name. However, many winemakers opt for the much better-known Appellation Controlée Sauternes.
