Tasting note Ame de Musset Lalande de Pomerol

Beautiful, full red color, spicy and spicy scent with red fruit and light, spicy nuances of oak. The taste structure is full, powerful and balanced in the aftertaste with ripe tannins.

Description

The best wines of Lalande-de-Pomerol rival good pomerol and saint-emilion. This includes the beautiful Ame de Musset, owned by Pascal Delbeck since 2004.

This now iconic winemaker stopped the decline of Premier Grand Cru Classé Château Ausone in Saint-Emilion in the 1970s and 1980s and brought the high level back to this top domain.

The small five-hectare vineyard in Lalande-de-Pomerol is planted with 80% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc each. Only about 20,000 bottles are produced each year. Pascal Delbeck shows his skills and makes a textbook example of high quality bordeaux, with complexity and beautiful ripe tannin.

The influence of fifteen months of aging in French oak barrels - half of which are new and half one year old - is seductively present and builds beautifully over the years. We bought the last boxes of the 2010 harvest, one of the best harvest years. Ame de Musset is now drinking well, but can easily mature for up to ten years after harvest.
