Description

The beautiful city of Orvieto in Umbria is known among wine lovers for its fine, dry white wine. The city's winegrowers' cooperative, Cardèto, produces a significant portion of the wine, primarily supplying it in bulk to merchants in Umbria and Tuscany who sell it under their own names. However, the best of the production is bottled in-house, and the "Linea Città" is the finest selection. This wine is served in countless restaurants in Orvieto and is locally renowned for its quality. The vineyards, comprising 45% Trebbiano, 40% Grechetto, and 15% Chardonnay, face southeast, are approximately 25 years old, and are harvested in three stages: late August, mid-September, and late October.
