Extremely good and enjoyable bordeaux
Full red color and beautiful and intense scent, with nuances of oak, lightly roasted scents and ripe red berry fruit. Round and balanced taste, with a long aromatic aftertaste.
Château Poitevin is one of the many, rather anonymous, cru bourgeois vineyards in the northern part of the Médoc, the area that is quite far removed from the 'big names'. Saint-Estèphe, the northernmost municipality of the Haut-Médoc, is located almost thirty kilometers to the south of the Médoc. So explain that Château Poitevin and colleagues in this corner of Bordeaux are not very well known.
It is true that here no wine comes from the Grand Cru level, but it is extremely good and pleasant Bordeaux. Like this wine estate, where Guillaume and Natacha Poitevin cultivate the vineyards according to the 'agriculture raisonnée'; a method with, among other things, a minimum of plant protection products. The wine is made in a classic way, working closely with the well-known oenologist Antoine Medeville. After fermentation, the wine ripens for about twelve months in small oak casks.
