Tasting note la Jaubertie Monbazillac
French white wine with an aroma of ripe tropical fruit (mango and pineapple) and dosed oak. The taste is full, persistent and balanced sweet. Refined wine delicious with fruit desserts or as an aperitif with toast and pâté.
Description
What a beautiful sweet white wine from Hugh Ryman owner and winemaker of Château de la Jaubertie. A small part of the white grapes is not harvested for the production of dry white wine, but remains longer on the stick to ripen. The damp conditions in the late season accelerate the 'pourriture noble' (noble rot) in which the grapes shrivel and concentrate in flavour. The very low yield makes for a magnificent sweet wine that goes extremely well with not too pronounced desserts such as blue cheeses or foie gras. But even without eating anything, this is a real treat. An opened bottle will easily stay good for many days in the refrigerator. The grape composition is as follows; semillon 65% sauvignon 25% and 10% muscadelle.
