Description
In Juran̤on (near Pau), Pascal Labasse is the master of the indigenous grape varieties Petit and Gros Manseng. He has amassed excellent press reviews and medals for both the dry and (semi-)sweet varieties. The sweet Bellegarde (in French: moelleux) is made from both varieties. The unaged Gros Manseng contributes to the typical fresh flavor structure of Juran̤on. The Petit Manseng is aged for several months in small oak barrels, giving the wine its sweetness. The result after blending is a beautiful white Juran̤on, less sweet than classic dessert wines but with many gastronomic uses.
