Tasting note
Dry white wine from France made from sauvignon blanc grapes. The firm, fresh taste fits perfectly with various fish dishes. Also very tasty as an appetizing appetizer.
Description
Sancerre is one of the best white wines in France. This small area is part of the Loire, but is actually exactly between the Loire and Burgundy. The Sauvignon Blanc is the only permitted grape variety.
It is precisely the combination of a temperate climate (slow ripening of the grape), the special lime substrate and the favorable location of the vineyards on slopes (optimal number of hours of sunshine) that makes Sancerre a 'big' wine. The producer of the Perle Blanche in Luxembourg is Christian Lauverjat. Only his oldest vineyards in the municipality of Sury-en-Vaux, which are among the best in the Sancerre area, he uses for the cuvée Perle Blanche.
