Paolo de Marchi is considered one of the world's finest winemakers. He remains faithful to the original Chianti style. His Chianti is primarily made with Sangiovese (80%) and Canaiolo. At his beautifully situated Isole e Olena estate in the heart of Chianti Classico, he produces wines with outstanding grape expression.

So, no bombastic style with thick oak here, but rather a beautiful result from low-yield Sangiovese vines with an emphasis on pure, ripe fruit. A top-notch wine that is rightly named by the wine magazine Proefschrift as one of the best wines from the region (with a whopping 95 out of 10 points for the 2012 vintage).
