Paolo de Marchi is considered one of the best winemakers in the world. He remains faithful to the original Chianti style. At his estate, Chianti consists primarily of Sangiovese (80%) and Canaiolo. At his beautifully situated winery, Isole e Olena, in the heart of Chianti Classico, he produces wines that primarily express the grape.

So here, no bombastic style with heavy oak, but rather a beautiful result from low-yield Sangiovese vines with an emphasis on pure and ripe fruit. A top-notch wine that is rightly named by the wine magazine Proefschrift as one of the best wines from the region (with no less than 95 out of 10 points for the 2012 vintage).
