The Burgundy of the Mediterranean. This is how Marco de Grazia characterizes his refined, mineral Sicilian wines, originating from hillside vineyards on the northern flank of the Etna volcano. The height ensures cooling and refinement in the wines. The organic planting and the ambition to produce top quality, force Marco to low yields. This gives the native grapes a beautiful expression. This Prephylloxera 'La Vigna di Don Peppino' comes from two parcels with 130 year old vines that have survived the phylloxera (grape aphid). They stand on their original rootstock and produce grapes of a magnificent quality. The wine needs time (and aeration). Unique in its kind.
