exclusive white topper from the Northern Rhône
the appellation Saint-Péray has only 78 hectares of vineyard
is reminiscent of a beautiful white burgundy
excellent with fish in sauce, poultry and soft cheeses
Fine dry white wine with a refined aroma of floral and mild fruity notes and a nuance of toasted oak. The full, round taste is balanced and powerful and ends with a long aftertaste. Delicious to combine with freshwater fish or poultry.
The beautiful white wines from the northern Rhône are mainly found in the good restaurants in and around the nearby Lyon. Here they have a great reputation as gourmet wines. Like this beautiful saint-péray, the southernmost cru of the northern Rhône, just next to Cornas. Lime and granite in the terraced vineyards provide a special terroir expression of the marsh and rousseed grapes planted here. The Durand brothers use 35% oak for their white wine. They do this in a controlled and restrained way, without toast flavoring. Here the wood aging gives a nice support that fully reflects the special aromas of both grapes. This is reminiscent of a beautiful white burgundy: full, powerful and long and intense in taste, with a tempting creaminess.
