Description

Niki Moser is the seasoned winemaker in Rohrendorf who switched to biodynamic viticulture a few years ago. The Riesling Von den Terrassen is a good example of his skills. This harvest was only picked around 20 October, more than a month later than usual. The big advantage of this is that the wine contains freshness and as Niki says “Lebendigkeit'”.

A purebred Riesling with a modest alcohol percentage that ferments in stainless steel tanks and exclusively with the natural yeast cells from the vineyard. As a result, no primary candy flavors but notes of ripe riesling fruit. Although good to drink now, this wine is very suitable for keeping for a while.

Niki Moser belongs to the top of the Austrian wine division. His idiosyncratic choice for biodynamic viticulture has enabled him to distinguish his powerful and concentrated wines from other winemakers. An important characteristic is that the wines of Niki Moser only present themselves well after a few months of aging in bottle. In his wines you will not find sweet smells but aromas of ripe concentrated grapes. His advice is even to pour the white wines in a carafe, a practice that is being used by more and more sommeliers so that the wine becomes considerably more aromatic. This Riesling is made from vineyards planted on terraces. The location is perfect and partly because of this the grapes reach optimal ripeness.
