Englishman Richard Kershaw started a boutique winery in Elgin with a prestigious Master of Wine degree in hand. Since 2012, he has been producing phenomenal wines from dozens of small plots—each with a perfect match between climate, soil type, and grape variety. For optimal vineyard expression, Kershaw uses specific clones from Burgundy with a low yield per plant.

 

The style is also clearly inspired by top wines from the Old World. This elegant cool-climate Chardonnay possesses a Meursault-like allure and has been causing a sensation in the international wine world since the first vintage. Beautifully oak-aged and refined in taste with plenty of juice, ripe citrus fruit, and a long finish. Without a doubt one of the best white wines from South Africa. Production is limited to just 10,000 bottles.
