Tasting note Mas Bres Pinot Noir
French red wine with the intense scent of cherries and blackberries. The taste is smooth and soft. Nice wine with not too pronounced dishes with chicken, pork or fragrant vegetables.
Maurice Barnouin harvests a striking and refined pinot noir in his relatively cool vineyards that is at odds with the many powerful southern French wines from the usual Mediterranean grapes. The demand for elegant red wines with a pure fruit expression is increasing, especially for the warm summer months. More and more often the red wine comes out of the cooling! Beaujolais is therefore becoming popular again and this pinot noir - with its beautiful light flavor structure - fits in well with this.
By harvesting the grapes optimally ripe and applying a cool soaking technique before fermentation, the winemaker achieves fruitiness and suppleness. A short contact with the skin during fermentation and the omission of wood aging emphasize the typicity of this fruity and accessible pinot noir.
