Description
Stefano Caruso and his daughters Giovanna and Rosanna make fantastic, modern Sicilian wines in Marsala, on the western tip of the island. Their Naturalmente series consists of pure, energetic organic wines made from local Sicilian grape varieties and has been enthusiastically received not only by us but also by the international wine press.
When it comes to white grape varieties, Grillo (once a key grape in Marsala production) is undoubtedly Caruso e Minini's flagship. The family selected the highest-altitude vineyards for Grillo cultivation, ensuring the grape retains as much freshness as possible.
After harvest, the grapes are destemmed, crushed, and gently pressed after a short maceration. Fermentation takes place in acacia and oak barrels. Finally, the wine matures in stainless steel tanks, where the settled yeasts are stirred twice a day for added flavor intensity.
It produces a superb, pure, and gastronomic white wine, with a full, juicy flavor and nuances of peach, lime, almond, and a hint of toast. Serve it with antipasti, fresh pasta with fish or vegetables, or seafood risotto. Or go for the Caruso family's favorite pairing and serve the Grillo with grilled swordfish. It's guaranteed to be a delight.
