Description
Château La Cardonne is a unique Bordeaux estate in many ways. Its history dates back to the eighteenth century. Since 1932, it has held the Cru Bourgeois classification and was later, and rightly, promoted to Cru Bourgeois Supérieur.
The estate was owned by Baron Rothschild-Lafite for over seventeen years – a fact still evident in the beautiful, classic label. The wine has been made there for over twenty years by Magali Guyon, the former winemaker of Château Lynch-Bages.
And finally, the La Cardonne vineyards are situated on the highest plateau in the Médoc. This cool location offers a great advantage in the increasingly warm climate and produces harmonious, refined wines. Plenty of reasons to discover this beautiful Médoc!
The wine is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, aged in French oak barrels. Another unique feature is that the wine is aged in the château's cellar and only released when Scottish patron Andrew McInnes deems it ready to drink. Anyone who wants to drink excellent Bordeaux at a very reasonable price would do well to try La Cardonne!
