Tasting notes Lamartine Cahors

A full-bodied red wine from France, made from Cot and Tannat grapes. The aroma is fresh and fruity, with notes of strawberry and berry. The full, smooth flavor pairs well with poultry or fine cream cheeses.

Description

Alain Gayraud produces superb wines at his Château Lamartine, the quality of which was recently spectacularly confirmed. His cuvée Tradition is the second-cheapest Lamartine.

Naturally, we immediately requested samples of this award-winning vintage: we tasted a classic, exceptionally refined red Cahors. We invite you to try this "cool-climate wine" too. A wine without the sweet, creamy flavor of sun-drenched southern fruit, but with a classic flavor structure, freshness, and refined tannins.

Perhaps less suitable as an aperitif, it pairs beautifully with certain dishes. Completely in keeping with the culinary tradition of the region, where wine is typically enjoyed at the table. The vineyard grows 90% Malbec and 10% Merlot grapes. After fermentation, it is briefly aged in partially cement vats, small barrels, and large wooden casks. Therefore, the oak influence is only faintly noticeable.
