A delicious Cabernet Syrah
Accessible, full-bodied red wine with a pure olfactory expression of blackcurrant, blackberry, stewed plum and spices (laurel). Juicy and smooth taste with a nice freshness and soft tannins. The finish is persistent with a light spiciness. Suitable for many occasions, good to combine at the table with spicy (meat) dishes, pasta dishes with tomato and old, hard cheeses.
A very beautiful Languedoc
The Languedoc has a particularly good reputation when it comes to affordable quality wines. This red Cyrice from the southern French village of Saint-Cyrice with the same name is excellent proof of that.
It is a blend of French star grapes cabernet sauvignon and syrah. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate, these grapes can ripen beautifully here, but they also retain enough fresh acidity to give balanced wines.
After harvesting, the grapes are crushed and then fermented and macerated in the skins (for the extraction of color and structure) in stainless steel tanks. The wine then ripens for some time in this.
Because the winemaking process does not involve wooden barrels, the red Cyrice is a pure explosion of ripe and juicy fruit. It is full and soft in taste, but also very drinkable. That makes it the perfect wine to have as standard at home: from drinks to table wine, this red Fransoos always tastes!
