Rich, creamy and exceptionally gastronomic

Description
The Limited Release wines (or rather, Limited Release in Afrikaans) from DeMorgenzon in Stellenbosch, bottled exclusively for us, are a real treat! The winery crafts these wines from top-quality grapes that just missed the mark in the estate's prestige wines, such as Maestro or Reserve wines.

This Grenache Blanc is no exception. The Grenache grapes, which are exceptionally well-suited to South Africa's dry climate, are planted in a single, northeast-facing plot. The beautiful, sun-ripened grapes are partially destined for the luxurious white Maestro Rhône blend. Alastair bottles the remaining barrels separately and entirely exclusively for us.

After manual harvesting, the Grenache is pressed in whole bunches. Fermentation, using only the grape's own yeasts, takes place in a concrete egg and large, used French oak barrels. Here, the wine also undergoes malolactic fermentation—which adds extra creaminess and suppleness—and nine months of aging.

The result is an exciting, fruity white wine with a rich, full, and slightly spicy flavor. It's delicious to enjoy on its own, but also wonderful at the table, for example, with creamy poultry dishes.

Alastair Rimmer from DeMorgenzon

"The Grenache blanc block is the only white (variety) vine which has a northeastern aspect on the egg. The weathered granite soil on which it grows ensures that the resulting wine has great tension and minerality. That grape is parsed in a whole bunch before the juice is extracted into a combination of old oak barrel and concrete egg. The part that is fermented in concrete is allowed to go through malolactic fermentation. This wine has a delicate bouquet of white flowers and lemon drops, resulting in a white perske with a mineral texture, which has a spicy finish. This wine is a wonderful combination of light and vars, but it has great complexity and I think it will reward those who are patient enough to wait a few bottles. outdated."
