Description

Visionary Corsican winemaker Manu Venturi bottles some of his finest vintages separately and releases them in the Les Parcellaires series. These ultra-exclusive wines are produced in very limited quantities and are designed to age further in the bottle.

The magnificent Cantinone is made entirely from Sciaccarellu—Corsica's large, blue grape variety with the finesse and complexity of Pinot Noir. Manu harvests the grapes exclusively from the southeast-facing Cantinone plot. The vineyard is situated at an altitude of 270 meters, covered with rolled pebbles, and is currently in the process of being converted to biodynamic certification.

After hand-picking, the grapes are transported in small crates to the cellar, where they are destemmed. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels using natural yeasts. The wine is aged in these barrels for another eighteen months before being bottled unfiltered.

It produces a ravishing red wine, undoubtedly among the best from Corsica. The aroma is subtle and intriguing, with notes of small red fruit, toast, and a savory touch. The palate is light and refined, yet intense. The finish is long and silky smooth. A pleasure to drink now and in the years to come, for example with game birds. Availability is very limited.
