Lugana in its purest, original form
From the local Turbiana grape
Remarkably dry, refined and uplifting

Description

Lugana is incredibly popular. The small wine region on Lake Garda, located largely in Lombardy and with a very small portion in Veneto, is producing more of the eponymous white wine than ever before.

Not all Lugana wines are created equal. Many are made in a rounder, milder style, often with some residual sweetness. This beautiful, distinctive example from Famiglia Olivini, considered one of the region's leading producers by wine magazine Decanter, is not.

The estate is located in San Martino della Battaglia, in the heart of Lugana, Lombardy. Following in their parents' footsteps, Giorgio, Giordana, and Giovanni Olivini create exquisite, terroir-inspired wines. They cultivate the vineyards, which have chalky clay soils, sustainably. In the cellar, they maintain a minimalist approach, allowing the wines to express their origins and vintage as much as possible.

This white wine is their very convincing calling card. The grapes are hand-picked in the historic heart of the appellation and rigorously selected. After gentle pressing, fermentation follows at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks.

The result is a refined, dry, invigoratingly fresh white wine with citrus notes and a lovely smoky touch. This is Lugana as it was meant to be. Enjoy it as a traditional aperitif, or pair it with poached fish, asparagus, or even poultry or veal.
