Description

The Seghesio family isn't particularly concerned with marketing. Riccardo and his cousins, Marco, Michela, and Sandro, much prefer to dedicate their time to their beautiful winery and truly fantastic vineyard, La Villa. This vineyard covers four hectares and consists of several plots. The oldest plantings date back to 1957. The Seghesio family produces fantastic wines there, which are rarely discovered and therefore still very affordable.

This Barolo is the family estate's prestige wine and is made from Nebbiolo grapes from the oldest vines of the La Villa cru. Once harvested, spontaneous fermentation and several days of skin maceration follow. The wine is then aged for 24 months in small and large French oak barrels, followed by a further year in bottle.

A true opportunity, if you ask us, especially considering the aging potential of this classic Barolo. La Villa is best enjoyed between four and ten years after harvest. It's best paired with a hearty, spicy meat meal or aged hard cheeses.
