Tasting Note Stefano Accordini
Bright red in color and fruity-spicy in scent with nuances of cherries, candied notes and light oak. The taste starts juicy and fresh and develops a mild tannin in the aftertaste.
Description
The favorite wine of Stefano Accordini, the founder of the family winery of the same name in Valpolicella, was not Amarone, not Ripasso, but… Valpolicella Superiore! In fact, he liked this wine so much that he drank it daily with lunch. The family has therefore dedicated the Superiore to Stefano, and designed the label especially in his honor.
The Accordini Valpolicella Superiore is a wonderfully fruity, elegant red wine, made from the classic regional grapes corvina, rondinella and molinara. The grapes are picked by hand and only the best part of the harvest is used.
After fermentation, the wine is aged for six months in wooden barrels and another six months in the bottle. This results in a soft and extremely balanced wine: wonderfully drinkable because of the juicy fruit and the modest alcohol content, but also sufficiently structured to combine with various dishes.
