Tasting note Stefano Accordini
Bright red in color and fruity-spicy aroma with hints of cherry, candied notes, and light oak. The palate begins juicy and fresh, developing a mild tannin in the finish.
Description
The favorite wine of Stefano Accordini, the founder of the eponymous family winery in Valpolicella, wasn't Amarone, nor Ripasso, but… Valpolicella Superiore! He loved this wine so much that he drank it every day with lunch. The family dedicated the Superiore to Stefano and designed the label especially in his honor.
The Accordini Valpolicella Superiore is a wonderfully fruity, elegant red wine made from the classic regional grapes Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara. The grapes are hand-harvested, and only the finest portions are used.
After fermentation, the wine is aged for six months in wooden barrels and another six months in the bottle. This results in a soft and exceptionally balanced wine: deliciously drinkable thanks to the juicy fruit and moderate alcohol content, yet sufficiently structured to pair with a variety of dishes.
