Champagne Brut Reserve
Exquisite champagne with a delicate mousse and overwhelming depth and finesse. Complex and pure in aroma, with nuances of orange blossom, pineapple, mango, almond pastry, and white flowers. The palate is powerful, silky, and exceptionally refined, yet brilliantly fresh and mineral. The finish is dazzling, lasting all weekend.
Brut Millénaires, Charles Heidsieck
The Blanc des Millénaires is undoubtedly one of the most exclusive and sought-after prestige Champagnes in the world. This famous wine is produced by the historic Champagne house Charles Heidsieck. Heidsieck is not only one of the smallest and best grande marque Champagne producers (Tom Stevenson ranks it second only to Krug), but also a pioneer when it comes to Blanc de Blancs. Its premiere was already a fact in 1949.
The Blanc des Millénaires is released exclusively in absolute top vintages. This 2006 is only the sixth bottling, following 1983, 1985, 1990, 1995, and 2004. It is made according to a fixed recipe from the very best Chardonnay. The grapes are sourced exclusively from the Côte des Blancs, specifically from Grands Crus Cramant, Avize, Oger, Le Mesnil, and Premier Cru Vertus. A 20% share of each cru is used, allowing each terroir to contribute its own unique touch to this iconic vintage.
Once blended, bottled, and fermented a second time in the bottle, the Champagne matured for another fourteen years in the magnificent, two-millennia-old crayères of Charles Heidsieck—hence the name Blanc des Millénaires. The wine was released in 2020. In terms of style, winemaker Cyril Brun compares the 2006—with its elegant and open character in its youth—to the sublime 1995 (which received the rare top score of 19/20 from Jancis Robinson). Compared to its predecessor, the 2004, which was tight, minerally, smoky, and toasted in style, the 2006 is riper, more generous, and more powerful, yet possesses an exceptionally refined aroma.
All comparisons and details aside, what truly matters is that this is a Very Great Champagne. The sublime combination of finesse, tension, minerality, complexity, and a dizzying length makes drinking the Blanc des Millénaires an unforgettable experience. With its delicate aroma, refined mousse, vibrant, lively, fresh acidity, and silky, creamy texture, this is a wine to completely immerse yourself in. And it can do so for at least another fifteen years: naturally, this prestigious cuvée also has a remarkable aging potential. In short, a must-try for every Champagne lover!

The Wine Advocate - September 2020: 94/100 points | Expressive and charming
Description
Recently disgorged with seven grams per liter dosage, the 2006 Brut Blanc de Blancs Blanc des Millénaires is expressive and charming, in keeping with the sunny, demonstrative style of the vintage. Offering up aromas of toasted brioche, honeycomb, yellow apples and preserved citrus, it's full-bodied, fleshy and textural, with a rich core of fruit, ripe acids and an attractive pinpoint mousse. It's already drinking well, and I'd be inclined to approach it sooner than the more tightly wound 2004 rendition.

Decanter - June 2020: 96/100 points | Very long aging potential
Description
This Champagne made with 100% Chardonnay sourced from four grand cru villages (Cramant, Avize, Oger and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger) and from one 1er Cru village, Vertus. Disgorged in Novembre 2019 after spending 13 years on its lees, the 2006 Blanc des Millénaires has elegant notes of apricot, pineapple, exotic fruit including mango, as well as white flowers. The palate is medium-bodied, delicate and yet opulent at the same time. The texture is crystalline and very pure. Good vivacity too thanks to ripe acidity. The finish is long and expansive. Very long aging potential (10-15 years).

Jancis Robinson - December 2019: 19/20 points | Super pleasant with everything in place
Description
The one wine poured solo rather than one of a pair made up of 2002 and 2004 in this comparative tasting, so not really blind. Mytik cork. Not the tensest of these champagnes but beautifully balanced. Super pleasant with everything in place. Great confidence. A good follow up to the copious 1995?
