Description
Beautiful vineyards along the Orbiel river, winegrowers with extensive experience in the region, and internationally renowned winemaker Hugh Ryman (of Château de la Jaubertie in Bergerec). These are the ingredients for the successful label Orbiel & Frères.
The grapes for this seductive Chardonnay come from vineyards around the city of Carcassonne and from Minervois. The farmers intentionally keep yields low to ensure a beautiful concentration of flavor in the wine.
Once in the cellar, Ryman ensures rapid processing of the grapes: after pressing, fermentation follows at a cool temperature in stainless steel tanks, aimed at preserving as much fruit as possible. This is followed by a short maturation on the lees, which are also stirred occasionally for extra flavor intensity.
This Orbiel Chardonnay is therefore delightfully accessible and fruity, with a perfect combination of ripe, almost tropical fruit and sufficient freshness. Highly recommended as a house wine – especially given the competitive price.
