Description
Fruity, easy to drink and elegant: these are the wines in the Les Fruits et Fleurs Sauvages series from Abbotts & Delaunay.
This seductive rosé from the South of France is a pure Grenache. Owner Laurent Delaunay selects the grapes in the Aude and Hérault regions. The warm Hérault produces very ripe grapes, which give the wine roundness and rich flavor. The cooler Aude produces grapes with more freshness, which gives the rosé a refreshing character.
In the cellar, Laurent keeps things simple. After a short maceration, which gives the rosé its beautiful soft pink color, he presses the grapes and ferments the juice in cool stainless steel tanks.
The result is a delicious rosé, beautifully scented with wild strawberries and raspberries and with a juicy, mild flavor. It's delicious on its own, but also pairs well with a cured meat platter, a summer salad, or barbecued chicken or vegetable skewers.
