Southern French Pomerols

Chardonnay comes in many forms, from expressive, full-bodied, and creamy wines to restrained, bone-dry Chablis-like flavors. Le Jade Chardonnay falls somewhere in between. This wine comes from vineyards north of Sète, near the southern French coast. The proximity of the sea tempers the warm Mediterranean climate, allowing the grapes to retain their freshness and fruitiness as they ripen.

Part of the harvest is briefly aged in oak barrels and blended with the rest, aged in stainless steel tanks. This gives this Chardonnay a perfect balance of fruity and lightly toasted aromas.

The Le Jade wines from the village of Pomérols, between Sète and Agde on the Thau Basin, are a very positive surprise. The pure fruit aroma and the fresh, seductive taste are exceptional for wines in this price range. The Chardonnay regularly wins awards.
