Tasting note Gros Manseng Moelleux
A French white wine with ripe fruit aromas and a slightly sweet, refreshing taste. Delicious with various types of pâté and also wonderful as a chilled aperitif.
Description
This semi-sweet white wine is made from the Gros Manseng grape variety. The vineyards are located in Gascony, in southwestern France. Producer Gilles Baumann used to primarily produce Armagnac (distilled) but has since largely and successfully transitioned to producing white wines. His Gros Manseng moelleux fits perfectly into the Sud-Ouest tradition, where slightly sweet white wines are often enjoyed. This wine pairs perfectly with the regional dish, foie gras. Southwestern France is becoming increasingly renowned as a producer of exceptional white and red wines. Regions such as Gascony, Jurançon, Madiran, and Cahors have acquired a very good reputation among wine lovers.
