Description

In lesser-known wine regions, there are still real discoveries to be made. Finds that surprise everyone during blind tastings. A good example is Bodegas Piqueras from the small town of Almansa in southeastern Spain. The region is not well-known and has a persistent reputation for producing mediocre wine.

This is precisely what motivates owner and winemaker Juan Pablo Bonete to showcase the region's incredible potential. He produces two excellent wines at a competitive price from his 110-hectare Finca Los Timonares estate. Since the 2015 harvest, the wine has been certified organic and has already been recognized by many sommeliers as the ideal house wine.

The full, soft and seductively tasting red wine comes from Monastrell and Syrah grapes, matures briefly in oak barrels and makes an impression in this price range.
